Last updated: October 8, 2026 · document v1.0 · app version 1.0.0
Applies to the mobile app StatusGo — Save Statuses for Android.
StatusGo lets you save to your gallery the WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business statuses you have already viewed, and edit and organise them. All of that happens inside your phone. Superbites Studios S.A.S. does not run servers that receive your statuses, photos, videos or chats, and cannot see them. This document explains plainly which data the app handles, why, who it is shared with when that happens, how long it is kept and which rights you can exercise.
The essentials in five lines
Your statuses, photos and videos never leave your phone. There are no accounts or sign-ups. StatusGo only reads the status folder you choose, in read-only mode, and does not see your chats or contacts. The only internet connection is used to show ads (Google AdMob) and to charge for StatusGo Pro (Google Play). You can delete everything the app stores by uninstalling it or from your phone's settings.
1. Data controller
The controller of the personal data described in this document is:
Company name
Superbites Studios S.A.S.
Country
Republic of Colombia
Contact email
Responsible area
Personal data holder support — StatusGo
Any request, query or complaint about personal data must be sent to that email. It is the official channel for these purposes.
2. Scope and acceptance
This policy applies to the StatusGo mobile app distributed through Google Play, in all versions and in every country where it is available. It does not apply to Android, Google Play, WhatsApp or third-party services, which operate under their own policies; section 6 identifies which ones are involved and what they handle.
StatusGo is not affiliated with, associated with, authorised by, endorsed by, or in any way connected to WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. "WhatsApp" is a trademark of its owners and is mentioned only to indicate which apps' statuses you can save.
By downloading, installing or using StatusGo you confirm that you have read this policy. Access to the status folder is requested separately, through the system's own folder picker, before it is used.
3. How StatusGo works
StatusGo is a local app.
- Statuses. WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business temporarily keep on your phone the statuses you view. To show them to you, StatusGo asks you to choose that folder with the system picker and receives read-only permission on that folder only. It does not ask for access to all your storage or your other folders.
- Saving. When you tap "Save", the app copies that status to your phone's gallery, into the StatusGO folders of Pictures and Movies. The original WhatsApp files are not modified or deleted.
- Editor. Text status, photo editor, trim, split into clips, convert to GIF and extract audio work on files you have already saved, inside the phone, and create new files in your gallery (audio goes to Music/StatusGO).
- Trash. When you delete a saved file, it moves to a private app folder for 30 days, and you can restore it or delete it for good.
- Private vault. It encrypts files with your code and stores them in the app's private storage. Your code is not stored: only what is needed to check it is kept. If you forget it and lost the 24 recovery words, nobody, including us, can recover those files.
- Auto-save (StatusGo Pro). If you turn it on, the app periodically checks the status folder you chose and copies new statuses to your gallery. You can turn it off at any time.
- Ads. The free version shows Google AdMob ads (section 6). You can remove them with StatusGo Pro.
4. Data handled
Everything described below is stored only in your device's storage:
- Your saved statuses. The copies you saved to the gallery and whatever you create with the editor. They are yours and are in your gallery.
- Authorised folders. The address of the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business folder you chose and the read permission Android keeps for it.
- Your organisation. Which files you marked as favourites, the collections and tags you wrote and which files you assigned them to.
- Trash and vault. Files in the private trash and encrypted files in the vault, together with the encryption material required, protected by Android's system.
- Preferences. Language, light or dark theme, whether you turned on auto-save or the "Saved with StatusGo" line when sharing, and whether you have seen the welcome and notices.
- Free plan counters. How many statuses you saved today and how many rewarded ads you watched.
- StatusGo Pro state. Whether Pro is active, so it works offline; Google Play confirms it.
StatusGo does not request or handle your chats, messages, contacts, location, microphone, camera, health data, card numbers or any category of sensitive data within the meaning of article 5 of Colombian Law 1581 of 2012. The app does not recognise faces or read the text in your images. Android verifies your fingerprint: the app only receives "yes" or "no".
4.1 Legal basis
Processing is based on your consent, given when you choose the status folder and accept the system dialogs, and on performing the service you request (saving, editing and organising statuses and, if you buy it, StatusGo Pro). For Colombia, processing is done with the prior, express and informed authorisation of the data holder, under Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1074 of 2015.
5. Device permissions
5.1 Access to the status folder
This is the only essential one: without it StatusGo cannot show you statuses. You grant it with the system folder picker, read-only, and you can remove it from Profile › "Status folders" › Remove, or from your phone's settings.
5.2 Internet
Used only to show ads and to check and charge the subscription with Google Play. Saving, editing and organising work offline.
5.3 Fingerprint or face
Optional, only to open the vault. Android handles it; StatusGo does not receive your fingerprint or your image.
5.4 Notifications
StatusGo does not send notifications.
6. Third parties involved
Only two parties may handle data related to your use of StatusGo, and neither receives your statuses, photos or videos.
Google LLC — Google AdMob (ads in the free version). The AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google data such as the device advertising ID, IP address, device and app data, and performance data, to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. The ads we request are non-personalised. If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, a consent form asks you before ads are shown. With StatusGo Pro no ads are shown. Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Google LLC — Google Play (download, subscription and payments). It receives the StatusGo Pro purchase transaction. Superbites Studios S.A.S. does not see your payment method data. Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
There is no other provider, ad network, analytics tool, error-reporting service or attribution service built into the app. Fonts come inside the app, so your IP address does not reach a font server either.
7. Backups
StatusGo excludes its data from cloud backups and device-to-device transfer. Your saved files are in your gallery and follow your phone's or Google Photos' backup rules if you turned them on; the app's private data (vault, trash, preferences) is not copied.
8. Subscriptions and payments
StatusGo offers StatusGo Pro as a monthly or yearly subscription. Purchases are processed exclusively through Google Play. Superbites Studios S.A.S. never sees, receives or stores your card or payment method data.
The app stores on your phone whether Pro is active, so it works offline, and checks again with Google Play when there is a connection. Payment, renewal and cancellation terms are in the Terms of Use.
9. What StatusGo does not do
- It does not upload your statuses, photos or videos to any server.
- It does not read your chats, messages or contacts, nor connect to your WhatsApp account.
- It does not post anything on your behalf: when you use "Post to my status" it opens WhatsApp with the file and you decide whether to send it.
- It does not require accounts or sign-up.
- It does not sell or rent data.
- It does not show personalised ads, nor any ads to Pro users.
- It does not use third-party analytics or error-reporting tools.
10. Minors
StatusGo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone. In Colombia, under article 7 of Law 1581 of 2012, processing the data of children and adolescents is only allowed when it respects their best interests and requires the legal guardian's authorisation. Since the data lives on the device, uninstalling the app is enough.
11. Retention and deletion
11.1 Data on your device
It is kept while the app is installed. You can delete it at any time:
- Remove the folder: Profile › Status folders › Remove withdraws the read permission.
- Delete files: from Saved (they spend 30 days in the trash) or from your phone's gallery.
- Uninstalling the app, which removes everything StatusGo stored in its private space (preferences, trash, vault). Files you saved to your gallery remain until you delete them.
11.2 Subscription and ad data
Google keeps purchase history and ad data under its own obligations and policies. You can manage your Google data and ads at myaccount.google.com.
12. Security
- Data is kept in the app's private storage, protected by app isolation and operating-system encryption.
- The vault encrypts each file with AES-256-GCM and protects the key with your code (Argon2id) and a device secret. After several failed attempts it locks progressively, and the vault screen does not allow screenshots.
- StatusGo asks only for read permission on the WhatsApp folder: it cannot modify it.
- With no servers of our own there is no central database that could leak.
If you find a vulnerability, report it to apps@superbitesstudios.com. In the event of an incident affecting personal data under our responsibility, we will notify data holders and the competent authorities, including the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce in Colombia, within the legally required deadlines.
13. International transfers
The data described in section 6 is handled by Google, established outside Colombia, mainly in the United States of America, based on your authorisation and Google's terms, which include equivalent safeguards. Data that lives on your device is not transferred.
14. Your rights
14.1 Colombia — Law 1581 of 2012 (Habeas Data)
As a data holder you have the right to know, update and rectify your data; request proof of the authorisation given; be informed of how your data has been used; file complaints with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce; revoke the authorisation and request deletion of your data when there is no legal or contractual duty preventing it; and access it free of charge.
Procedure. Send your request to apps@superbitesstudios.com with your name, a contact method and a description of what you ask. Queries are answered within a maximum of ten (10) business days, extendable by five (5). Complaints are answered within a maximum of fifteen (15) business days, extendable by eight (8). If the request is incomplete we will tell you within the following five (5) business days.
The supervisory authority is the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (sic.gov.co).
14.2 European Economic Area, Switzerland and United Kingdom — GDPR
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise them by writing to the contact email and complain to your country's supervisory authority. Since we do not keep your statuses or your gallery data, we cannot locate or hand them over: they live only on your phone.
14.3 California and other US states
We do not sell or share personal information within the meaning of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) beyond what Google AdMob handles to show ads, described in section 6. You can exercise the rights to know, delete, correct and non-discrimination by writing to the contact email.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this document to reflect changes in the app or in regulations. The current version will always be published at this address, with its update date. If a change is substantial —in particular, if it adds a new recipient of data— we will announce it inside the app before it takes effect.

17. Annex — Mapping to the Google Play "Data safety" form
For Google, data is "collected" when it leaves the device, including what third-party SDKs send. What is processed on the phone and never transmitted is not declared.
- Device or other IDs (advertising ID) — Google AdMob — Declared (collected and shared). Purpose: advertising. Not used to personalise the ads we request.
- App info and performance / diagnostics and approximate location (by IP) — Google AdMob — Declared following Google's current guidance for the AdMob SDK (check the list when completing the form).
- Purchase history — Google Play — handled by Google Play; the app only knows whether Pro is active.
- Photos and videos, files and documents — On device only — Not declared. Never transmitted.
- Messages, contacts, precise location, personal data, financial information — Not handled — Not declared.
